Acrylic on Stretched Canvas, 30 x 30". For this painting, I used heavy body acrylics with heavy gel medium applied with a palette knife. I started with a simple underpainting to get the basic composition and colors on the blank canvas. In the beginning, I was very frustrated that the sky was not an even tone at the top, but then I quickly realized that the variation of color actually works well. It is inspired by Sarah LaPierre's "Beautiful Red Tree."
