I think you have really done a good job. The shadow and light and your strokes are really good. I have done similar myself. Halfway through I got my husband to take a photo. Like you the strain and intensity is definitely there it changed when I looked at the photo! Great job.

This is great, the light on the left side of your face really lifts the portrait.

It's not an easy task drawing a self portrait through a mirror and you have certainly done a good job.

This is my first self-portrait, done in a mirror, and is also the first portrait I've done from life (as opposed to working from a photo). The expression is quite intense, probably because I was concentrating! Charcoal on medium weight A4 paper.
