It is because you know them so well that you don't look at them as you do at strangers. Their features are so familiar to you and you're not objective!! I know the feeling. This is so very well drawn, I hope she is pleased about it!

Thank you both and I think you are right - you are too close to the subject to be entirely objective. Oh, and yes she loved the picture but she doesn't know that I have posted it on here, but I am sure she won't mind!!!
