If I had realised just how daunting a project this painting would be, I doubt I would even have begun. Once again the photos were taken in my garden back in South Africa. As I am very 'detail' orientated this was a huge challenge as I had to try and make the roses look as real as possible without losing the structure of each flower. It is a large painting and took about 6 weeks to complete. This one was sold to a lady in Ireland who had been looking for about 3 years for a painting for her home and fell in love with it. I must admit that by the time I had finished it I was more than happy to let it go.
