These portraits are done from photographs either taken by the owner or myself. Soft pastels (both pencil and chalk) are my medium of choice in these pictures. I often become so involved and connected to the subject that I actually have a problem letting them go once complete - silly really, but I think it adds a certain dimension to the picture that might otherwise be missing.
