I love the unusual, Lewis, this is great. (If you want to move on to the professional paints, have a look at the Ken Bromley website, they do a good range at discounted prices - I love the Daniel Smith colours, although they're a bit on the expensive side - and their service is excellent.)

You achieve great results anyhow Lewis but I must admit I like the 'artists' watercolours best. They have more pigment and will go further so pay for themselves. I built up a couple at a time when offers were on. Jackson's Art is a good supplier too, competitive prices. Love the parrot and toucans!

This is a picture I did six years ago. It's a bit weird, but I like weird. 16 x 12 Watercolour. At that time I was using a cheap set of Reeves paints, plus a tube of white gouache to add some body. The reeves set came with a black, as you can see. I've since moved on to Cotmans paints, which in some respects are better, I've been considering going up a step to Professional grade watercolour. Only the expense is giving me pause.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
