For the first time since being a student I prepared and used hardboard. The surface took a little getting used to at first then I relaxed into it and enjoyed the ride. Having spent quite a bit of time in the sea, (when jellyfish were not around), and on the beach I used my visual memories to create my 'itsy bitsy' ladies. I have left the board coming through in places and allowed the paint to speak for mottled, tanned skin. It is a large painting, 45cm x 61cm. I really loved creating this painting!
