This so deserves to be chosen, it is brilliant . You can feel the sand between your toes! Good luck.

Hope this one does well for you, Lesley - it is a little gem.

Great tones, good drawing, lovely painting, Lesley

Wonderful painting, Lesley. Just back from walking by the Solent in high wind and heavy rain today and have had to put the heating on. This picture reminds me what summer is meant to be like!

Thanks Thea, Fred and Pat :)

Thanks Alix, I recommend a cup of hot chocolate :)

A beautifully painted piece, Lesley. I would be so very surprised if it were not selected.

Thanks Seok-Yam :)

Beautiful painting. I especially like the tones of the sand and water.

Beautiful . A small masterpiece. I wonder why Lesley paints in a small format 8 x 8 cms

Many thanks Shaun and Sergio. Hi Sergio, thanks for your question about my formats. To be honest I really enjoy small paintings. At the moment I'm trying hard to speed up my painting, for a plein air painting trip in October with some seriously talented plein air artists. I understand smaller formats will be best for plein air, painting fast with changing light.

Oil sketch on panel, 8 x 8 cms. Revisited an old photo of my youngest son on a beach in Cork. This little oil sketch has been pre selected by the RSMA, along with a couple of others for their annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries. Please keep you fingers crossed that one makes it through :)
