Very well done. Remember doing this sort of work myself, it isn't easy as you made this look. Worth getting your hands dirty for!

Thanks Fred, I was slightly out of my comfort zone with just 10 minutes :)<br />

A very good figure drawing Lesley!

Thanks Louise :)

Excellent Lesley!

Wonderful drawing. Lovely.

I love this, Lesley - it has poise, strength, subtlety, grace and great elegance. You really know how to handle charcoal!

Thanks Shirley and John :)

This is really good Lesley, I do envy you being in St Ives!

Meant to add well done in that short time!

Thanks Carole :)

Smashing work Lesley, can visitors just turn up there and take part?

Hi Derek, thanks for your comment. Yes you can just turn up for life drawing on Wednesday evenings, or Saturdays when they offer longer 15-30 min poses. Classes are tutored, &amp; the Wednesday evening 2 hour session cost &#163;15 for non members, &#163;8 for members. I would recommend getting there by 7.15pm for 7.30pm, materials are all there, you pay for paper, they provide charcoal/pencils/rubbers. Easels &amp; boards were all set up. Google St Ives School of Painting, &amp; click the Life Drawing tab. They welcome regulars/experienced visitors to complete beginners, my husband came along &amp; had never done it before.

Thanks Gudrun and Carole :)

I love your work Lesley - both your boat/seascapes & these life drawings. I too recently started to go to the classes at the St Ives school. Its such a good discipline in looking!

On a recent trip to St Ives I popped in to the St Ives School for a Wednesday evening life drawing session. They offer quick posses on Wednesdays, 5-15 mins per pose. This one took about 10 minutes, done on A3.

I love to paint water, with boats, buildings or simply the water in oils. I'm a regular at life drawing sessions where I usually get covered in charcoal!
