Dave Pilgram Artist Hi Linda, this is a very different painting from the others and is always good to see other painters ideas on a theme. I like your boldness in the use of colour as this can be a block with many artists. Just two comments if i may, the sky and water are the same tone, most of the time it pays to have one lighter or darker than the other. If you had made it lighter it would have given you the opportunity to do some reflections. To make the water darker you look at the what is opposite on the colour wheel i.e orange, this is because you have painted your lake blue. This will darken the water when added to the blue. The other comment is the trees on the left needed to be as colourful as your distant mountains, in paintings we try to use colours that have be used in other parts of the painting. Well done Dave Pilgram Artist

Linda Barton sent in her version of Dave's project saying: 'Not being too good on traditional landscapes, I went for something completely different, and tried to incorporate space and colour using Caran D'ache Neocolour 11, watersoluble wax pastels. Never used them before, found them easy and clean to use. Would welcome any comments!'
