Great Baddow by Leisure Painter

Great Baddow
Comments

Apologies to those who have alredy seen this as I posted it to my gallery. As I said when I posted it there is probably a bit more work needed on the spire and some adjustment to the foreground buidling extension - the side wall is going up-hill! Also a bit more foliage in the distant trees - perhaps a closer smaller shrub peeking over the wall a bit to one side. Easy to see it all when it's on screen.

Colin Steed, Artist & Tutor. Your painting has a lovely clean look to it Michael. You you must have good brush control and mixing skills. Ok, the spire could be a tone or two darker in the lower area against the light sky but I think you need that space in the distance between the conifer and foreground tree. You have not added strong shadows on all your gable ends but that gives your street an timeless look not a sunlit feel. I like that. Good perspective by the way. A lovely painting alround Michael.

Hi Michael / Colin, could you please let me know where I can find the original photo of this subject, so that I may give it a go. Would love comments against my style againt this subject. Thanks Peter.
