Colin Steed-Artist & Tutor. Good tonal contrast Terence. The tree in the foreground could have been trimmed to allow the church to stand out in clear releaf against you light sky. The church does sit back nicely because of your strong tonal contrast on the building in front though. Your far distant trees are a the corrrect blue-green colour but needed to be a tone or two lighter. The tree would then stand forward a. Other than that it's lovely painting Terence.

Terence Meltzer sent in his version of Colin's project saying: 'I live in Chelmsford and have regularly driven along this area. I have taken up water colour painting since my retirement a few years ago and attend an art group at Heybridge affiliated with the U3A. I left out the telephone poles as I thought they would make the picture too fussy! I look forward to seeing Colin's version in the next edition of Leisure Painter.'
