Colin Steed - Artist & Tutor. This version works well for me. It's fresh light washes and dark, purple-blue shadows are the main reasons. The buildings could have been given some warm washes of colour but you have achieved that sunlite affect. You have made the sun shine !! Well done Jackie.

Thanks Colin! I found the exercise of making the sun come out very therapeutic! Wish we could do it in real life eh?

Jackie Poulouktsi sent in 2 versions of this month's project saying: 'Quite a challenge getting the perspective right and trying to give a sense of distance...and all in watercolour which is lovely but can be so tricky! I found Colin's tips very useful too. Great Baddow 3 was done with just watercolour. I don't like painting from photographs and this was an extra challenge as we were asked to try and make the sun come out! No small task!'
