Colin Steed - Artist & Tutor. Well done Guy. You have achieved the affect of light on the fronts of the buildings and have given depth to the street by using light blue colours for your far distant trees. The light sky behind the church works well but the church may be a touch dark. A lighter colour would help the building in front to stand forward. You do need those figures in the foreground but they are too small. The heads should be at the same height as the doors of the buildings. A dark foreground shadow would also help to give added light to the scene. Apart from the figures your overal perspective is excellent. Well done again Guy.

Guy Nicholson sent in his 10x7" watercolour version of this month's project saying: 'I have tried to use bright colours to give the impression of late summer, with the sun shining onto the front of the buildings. Most of the time I shy away of adding figures but in this case the scene would probably look more unnatural without them. That said I did leave out the telegraph poles and cars as I wanted to give the impression of a quite village.'
