Colin Steed-Artist & Tutor. Brilliant, vibrant colours Mick. You have taken a dull Autumnal scene and created a wonderful woodland full of primary colours. I think the dark tree is a little too central though, a touch more to the right would open up the distance allowing the eye to wonder deeper into the scene. I may have been tempted to use dark blue shadows for the trees not black. That would make the Reds, Green, and Yellows look even more vibrant. Overall though a lovely modern twist to a dull photo.

Thanks for the appraisal, Colin. I could have kicked myself for the positioning of the tree. The trees and shadows are mainly dark sepia not black, pastel. best Mick

Mick Saunders sent in his version of Colin's project saying: 'I thought the photo had an autumn feel to it so I exagerated that, as well as talking liberties with the tree positions.'
