Colin Steed-Artist & Tutor. Thanks Fiona. Yes you are on the right lines. Light cool blue colours in the distance dark tones of rich colour for the foreground. You can still add some rich greens to the tops of the two foreground trees finishing where the branches stop. Your branches need some leaves to support. I would love to see another attempt after you have seen my demo in next months issue. I look forward to that Fiona. Keep them coming.

Fiona Savage sent in her version of Colin's project saying: 'I enjoyed this project because I find lots of leaves overwhelming. Colin's teaching notes really helped me look at the various aspects of the painting in a different way, making them less daunting. I know I have a long way to go in terms of watercolour competence, but the hints he gave will carry over into other paintings and help me improve.'
