Roger Blackwell sent in his pastel version of Bob's project saying: 'Such fascinating creatures. . . and sad to know they are in decline. I used pastel pencils on grey Murano pastel paper. 12" x 9". I found trying to render the sparse red hair and flesh quite tricky; the background was indeed necessary and having drawn it out I blurred it with my finger to give distance. For fine detail I made use of a rubber shaper.'
