Roger Blackwell sent in his version of Elena's painting project saying: ' I used pastel pencils as my chosen medium for this study of such a magnificent animal. Having lived in a West Sussex village where racehorses are trained it was a challenge and a real pleasure to create this noble animal. I omitted the halter and hoof guards as suggested and set my thoroughbred in a natural setting to allow it to "run free". Pastel pencils on Murano pastel paper. A4 size. Rubber tipped blender used on fine detail'.
