Rodney Walmsley says: This is my first posting to the painting project challenge. I started by freehand pencil sketch of the windmill scene, using John,s tips I masked off the areas of the windmill so that I could put in the sky wash. Just using three colours in the project then completed the landscape and the details of the windmill adding the track and fence to lead into the scene. Lastly added the shadows of the fence as the light was from the right side of the picture. I had much pleasure in producing my interpretation of this scene.
