I've just been looking at this in the LP. You have done a good job. The painting has a lovely wintery look to it. The tree and its roots frame the house to perfection. The sky is ominous, and has look of more snow to come. Nice work.

Colin Steed - Artist & Tutor. Lovely job Rodger. The warm colour in the foreground and on parts of the house give this scene some warmth. I would have used more brown in the mix when painting the large this would give the building more distant's but the branch on the ground is a lovely touch. Overall lovely painting Rodger.

Roger Blackwell followed Colin Steed to produce this painting of Hylands House saying: ' I followed the colour palette suggested by Colin Steed and painted my picture on Bockingford CP Not paper. 12" x 9". I used masking fluid in several places and also white gouache for the final touches of snow. I "zoomed" in on the building and filled the foreground with a broken branch and tufts of grass to give more interest'
