I think the figures are really good :-) This is a lovely painting.

As a Creaker I of course know Humble Pie I can report excellent coffee beans and you have caught a lovely moment in your very nice piece of work.

Colin Steed. Artist and Tutor. You have handled this difficult subject very well. Just watch the perspective in your roof. It tends to make the right hand side of the building turn towards you. Try to use only two or three colours in your mixes. This will give you a fresher looking painting. Well done and keep up the good work Kathleen.

Kathleen Foreman sent in her version of Colin's shop front saying: 'The picture was quite a challenge, as I haven’t been painting long. Buildings and figures in one go! The figures haven’t turned out so well and some of the light and shade in the buildings was difficult. I found the shop colour quite hard to achieve though cobalt blue and yellow ochre seemed to get near the photo. I look forward to some more figures in scenes.'
