Dear Gillian . . Good try at the project and always good fun isn't it? Suggest you use a pen with masking fluid for the sweeps so that the sky shows through the gaps especially if you have a dramatic dark cloud behind. I used masking fluid on my effort even though I painted in acrylic and then touched up for finer detail.

Dear Roger - Thank you for your kind words. I realise that my effort with masking fluid on the sails was not very successful - I do not possess a masking pen - I must now invest in one. I agree that the new format for painting projects is excellant and good fun as you say. Although to date, not many artists participate.

Colin Steed - Artist & Tutor. Yes Roger is right. Using masking fluid for the sails would give you the opportunity to apply a clean wet into wet wash over the the sky area. You have achieved this in the foreground land very successfuly. Well done.
