this is a great effort wenda .a beautifull painting with out that grass , try and sit on your hand and not put the grass in .lower the horizon and then ,we have wow, take care I will pop one on now for an hour to show you what I mean with less is more

thank you for your comment! I knew as soon as i put the grass in i ruined it, but i was trying to cover up what i think is an awful foreground! I've only been painting a year, and really struggle to do watercolour. I really want to master it though so your advice is much apprieciated! thank you

A good sky and I like the way you have got the mill sails to stand out. Agree that the horizon could be lower - maybe I'll try taking Alan's advice myself !

Colin Steed -Artist & Tutor. I love your sky. I will not comment about the foreground grass. We all do that from time to time but all is not lost. Lay a strip of white paper over the part of the foreground, moving it up and down until you achieve one third foreground and two thirds sky. This will lower your horizon and remove some of the grass.That should improve the composition.
