What a good idea to include Mt Tiede ! It sets the location, yet does not dominate the finca as a focus. The colours of the foreground make the scene warm the scene, which goes with this location. Well done.

Gil Hellewell I like your version very much - it is hard to portray the hot climate without making the picture boring! Well done!

Rodney Walmsley sent in his version of the Finca saying: 'This is my impression of the line art finca on 140 not watercolour paper 23cm x 18cm. using colours, Aureolin, Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna and Raw Sienna. I decided because this was Tenerife that I would introduce Mt Tiede as the backdrop in a light wet in wet wash this I thought gave distance to the composition. The path lead the eye into the picture following the wall then onto the finca, then finished off the forground texture using a toothbrush effect and added the shadows as the light was from the right of the scene'.
