Julia Heath says: 'I did not know what I was letting myself in for when I started Paul Hopkinson's otter. I found the exercise in last Summer's Leisure painter which I picked up at the NEC in November. Watercolours are very new to me, I usually like pastels and coloured pencils. I just used what I had! Wrong paper, wrong size brush, an 00 must be so tiny to cope with fine hairs! Got impatient towards the end with the leaves...'
