Butterfly on Thistle

Hi June, thank you for trying out my painting project. I really like the way you have kept the background colour in keeping with your chosen colours for the rest of the picture. I am so pleased that people are choosing their own painting media. Different interpretations of the same subject are always inspiring. I tried this one out in watercolour first, but I just couldn't get the vibrancy I wanted. I sometimes think we all try too hard to paint whole landscapes and forget that simple subjects like this can be equally exciting. That's the reason I chose this for the project.
