Rosemary Hale sent the following comments on Ray's painting: 'I like the feel of your painting Ray – crisp snow and cold air…a good achievement. I agree about simplifying the scene and omitting the house – you will see I did the same, and what you have done works very well. One small thing that distracts I feel is the foot of the bridge on the right, which appears to be further forward than the left side. In the photograph, foliage hides the bridge base on the right so perhaps you could add some on your painting to do the same.'
