Cardiff Castle ..South Wales by Steven Ponsford

Which mistakes were they then? Don't tell us! It's a big castle so there would be a lot of wall. It's full of interest and I do like the way your colours are working together.

It's a brilliant watercolour with lots of colour and life. I lived in Cardiff for 4 years (visited The Four Bars pub quite a lot lol) and I think you have captured the castle beautifully.

This works well Steven, the cars and pedestrians add interest to the castle.

Really lovely painting, Stephen. The castle looks suitably imposing and solid, as it actually is. I can see your dilemma with such a large area of the castle wall to deal with. Breaking it up was a good decision and you could have gone even further I think - perhaps adding some surprising tones into the wall? Just a thought.

Very impressive, Steven. Beautiful subject and perfectly executed. Love the colour of the stone walls and the sunshine on the building. The addition of cars and figures gives an impression of the size of the castle.
