It's a great sketch Steven, in fact it's more than a sketch. I'd be happy if I could produce a painting as good as this, never mind a sketch. Did you use ink for the really dark area's, I like the inky depth of of it.

I haven't painted a tall ship for ages so I tried this sketch on an off cut of paper...It's about 4 by 10ins approx. I sponged out the rays of light and used white paint for the breakers. It started out as a night scene but it didn't work out. Oh well, go with the flow as they say
