Thanks Carole, it's great to receive comments from an acomplished artist like yourself ! I wanted the forground to appear misty so as to contrast the sharp detail in the breaker. It didn't work out so I may have another go.

Thanks for your comments Thea, it is watercolour. It didn't take as long as you might think. I discovered that you can add water to masking fluid, so after completing the drawing I was able to apply the masking in a much more conrolled way. The paper needs to be fairly smooth though. All the white you see is the paper. Thanks again.
