Thank you Jorja for your comments,I found them most encouraging. I love elephants as well, and have been fortunate enough to be born and raised in Kenya where they can be seen in their natural habitat and yes, they are awe inspiring, I have only just started painting them again after many years of coming to terms with not living in Kenya any more.

Hi Angela. Particularly like this pastel, reflections are very convincing. The posture of the animals is excellent too, with great use of shadow to give a sense of solidity and movement (ears and trunk). Thanks for your kind comments on my work recently.

Thank you Steve, I appreciate your comments about the shadows adding to the movement etc and I must remember how important they are. It's so easy for me to forget things like that having regretfully not had any formal training. I love pastels, must go back to them for a bit for the sheer enjoyment of working iwth them.

Well I just had to choose this one one which to thank you for your lovely comments on Linlithgow Palace didn't I? A fellow reflection lover! I like this and your African sunset which is very strong and striking. My dad spent years in Africa and would love these.

Thank you Diana, fellow reflectionist, for your kind comments. I love reflections but have not really tackled them in watercolour yet. Pastels and oils allow you to rectify mistakes, but watercolours?? And I'm not half as competent as you, your gallery is such a pleasure to visit, so professional and so inspiring. I need lots of time to look at each painting and enjoy it. Whereabouts was your dad in Africa?
