Radcliffe power station, nearly home

Comments

It’s meaningful to you Lesley - nearly home - as certain landmarks are meaningful to me.

I’m in Derbyshire Lesley, as we are higher up we can spot the power station from many places.

It's a familiar landmark to me too Lesley - strangely I always think I'd miss it if it went because you can see it from an awful lot of places, same with Willington further up the river.

Such a familiar landmark. Nicely done.

I think we all must have landmarks that have certain meanings Marjorie,it a shame so many are disappearing, won't know I'm home when this one goes

Carole I didn't realise you were so close, I should imagine you can see so many scenes, I love Derbyshire,

I think the same Sarah, unfortunately it will disappear in the next few years. I've not heard of willington, I will Google it.

Thankyou so much Ellen

The scene Radcliffe power station from the A453, I know I'm nearly home and time to get the house keys ready, when we approach this land mark. This is the last of my sketches and paintings from our travels around Scotland last year. All creating great memories. This year it will be Wales. I've used sennelier soft oil pastels on toned tan strathmore mixed media, vellum surface paper.
