Wow lesley that’s a challenging subject but well painted! I think you’ve also handled the grass pretty well. Not sure how you could improve on it and it might take away attention from the castle which is obviously your main interest.

Thankyou Tessa, my thoughts on the grass are similar, one to leave for a while and then revisit I think..

Oils on canvas...From my visit a few weeks ago...I gone back to using my favourite medium oils, without using turps, just a little linseed oil where necessary..the grass is very neatly cut in front of the castle, so I'm a little inshore how to replicate this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
