My first painting of 2021 is a bit of a departure for me from my usual purely literal approach. I wanted to combine the ethereal light-through- water quality of a kelp forest with the haunting celtic myth of the kelpies.... My favourite bit of the painting is the sea floor, which was a bit of a happy accident in terms of technique.
