Peonies
I love painting flowers on a black background. This one proved doubly difficult because as well as being a large stretched canvas (70x50 inches) it was the first time I'd attempted the complicated flowers of a peony. Plus, I decided to paint the flowers first then paint in the background. This turned out to be far to complex and time-consuming so next time I will stick with painting the background first and maybe also try a blue background. Either way, I am happy with how these one turned out.
