I do like your jolly jack tars. Michael.....

Like Sylvia, I love your sailors. You capture movement so well.

Bell bottom trousers, coats of navy blue, love your Jack tars Michael 😀

I've seen a lot of those, down here in Plymouth.

Thanks Sylvia, Seth, Linda and Mike.

He’s off again! This reminds me of my brother many years ago being in the sea cadets. Your painting suggests and I seem to remember, the bell bottoms having horizontal creases, goodness knows why! Unless of course you can tell us?

Limited personal space onboard so kit has to be stored accordingly. We had to iron 5, 7, or 9 horizontal creases in each leg depending on your height so they could be folded and stored in your locker. Not nowadays though. By the way Tessa, women like sailors not because they are handsome and wear lovely uniform but because they know how to wash, iron and clean the house and, especially, take orders.

Darn! I’d have married one if I’d known that!

What you’ve never had you’ll never miss Tess. Something good ahead Gudrun.

Your sailors always make me smile. Mind you, he does look rather cheerful! Like the composition here as well.
