Great news on your successful treatment Michael, I went through radiotherapy last year, breast cancer, and it can drag you down but you will soon bounce back. Thought we hadn't seen much of you so nice to see you again.

I completed a successful course of radiotherapy in January at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, to repair my prostate. Thank you Freeman Hospital and all the wonderful staff at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care. This is a pastel sketch of one of the radiotherapist who helped me. She said she saw quite a few men like me who had simply over-used their prostate. I said, 'resistance is hardly an option even though my Catholic educators tried to tell me differently'. As they used to say in the RN, 'there's none so pure as the purified'.

I was born in 1946. In the 1960s and part of the 70s I was an airman in the Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm. I joined Durham Constabulary in 1971.
