Walking at Low Newton

Walking at Low Newton

Nice one Michael - is this recent? I might have been nearby!

Thanks Marjorie. There's an old railway line walk which goes from the back of Low Newton Remand Centre to the back of Newton Hall Estate, where we live. A favourite dog walk. A little imagination but authentic.

I like this watercolour....But no story ? lol

Thanks Kirstie. Yes, what are landscapes suppose to say, what is the meaning? That's why I'm drawn to surrealism - has some meaning and characteristically more interesting, to me at least. Landscapes and flowers are absolutely 'leisure painting' and probably apply to this site the most. I expect I'll get into trouble now. I do love landscapes too, otherwise I wouldn't try and do them.

Thanks for the reply. I'm rubbish at landscapes, I guess thats why my doodles are always illustrations I can put a story to the picture. :)

Your work has meaning and is thought provoking Kirstie, in addition to your talented draughts-woman-ship. I enjoy all your work.

Lovely bold colours, Michael.

A lovely painting Michael, I can imagine a stroll here with the dog going in and out of the bushes.

Thanks Margaret. The dogs love the place. The spirits of our dogs still run in and out of the bushes.

Rich and enticing painting Michael.

I really enjoy viewing your pieces Michael and having a giggle. The style you have used with this work is extremely attracive.

Thanks for your kind encouragement Derek.

I agree with Derek, I like this style especially the tree's......the birds are really good too Michael.

Thanks Fiona. These birds had flown down from Dumfries and Galloway and a few, starlings, were very tame and flew on to my shoulder.

I know I'm working my way backwards, but you're on a bit of a roll. Great watercolour.

Thanks Gudrun. Yes,I seem to be industrious at the moment.

Nice clean washes well done
