Have you used a different paper for your last two watercolours Michael? It has a grainy effect and is so effective in creating the atmosphere of the painting. Again, the washes in the sky and sea are terrific.

Thanks Fiona. Yes I found an A5 sketching pad and used that. Not proper watercolour paper. It soon gets grainy if you overwork the surface.

I was born in 1946. In the 1960s and part of the 70s I was an airman in the Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm. I joined Durham Constabulary in 1971.
