Smashing marks and work on a difficult subject. Can you show us your original drawing please?

Interesting work and brush marks Keith, and so refreshing to see some life drawing of this standard, some lovely tonal values. What a contrast with other 'nude' studies on tonight's page.

Agree with all great paintings Derek

I much prefer your paintings to those of the late Euan Uglow, who reduced figures rather too much to geometric forms for my liking (although that was probably their point, to a degree).

Hi Robert. Thanks for the very positive feedback. You can tell that I have been influenced by the figure paintings of Uglow. I take your point about geometric forms but I very much admire his fastidious approach to measured drawing and his subtle modulation of colour and tone. The colour key on many of his paintings is daringly high and not to everyone's taste but he certainly was a great painter.
