Great composition, and it makes for a much more interesting painting than a study from someone else&#39;s photo would be: this is all your own.<br /><br />I think that very often a &quot;bad&quot; photograph, ie one that&#39;s not taken to present a perfect photographic image, is much better than a highly professional study - it gives us more information to work from, without our being intimidated by it, if that makes any sense.

Great painting and with the tree sitting on the thirds this helps with the composition and the clouds look menacing.
