This looks great to me . Was it from an old painting that you copied or one of your own ideas? Well done.

Actually Fred the picture was taken from an etching which was only of the bridge and buildings, the rest is mine including the boats and people

I think that the group of people on the left really makes the painting authentic, great!

i think you achieved what you wanted to achieve, really nice painting :-)

Thank you for your comments, I think what helps with this painting is that its so old it has slightly browned and almost looks 18th century due to it.

Oil Painting size 33"x25" I always wanted to paint a picture that looked if it came from the 18th century. The quality of the photo is not very good due to poor light, its screwed to the wall in the lounge. I visited Chester in January this year for the first time and the Bridge and buildings are still there.
