Bonneyville Mill

This is super. I love it. The reflections are great. I painted a few pictures using gouache 25 years ago, then stopped because of work commitments. Only started painting again this year using acrylics.Now retired I can paint (using acrylics, haven't a clue about any other medium as have no art qualifications or training), and I love it. There's nothing wrong in painting in detail, it's what I do, but I am trying to be looser in my style, but find it so hard. I'll search for your other more recent work, but I do really like this. Well done!

Thanks so much for your kind words, Stephen! I am so glad to meet a fellow artist who is starting over again after so long a time. It's not as easy as I thought it would be, as I'm sure you would agree. I love this website, as it gives one the encouragement we need. I, too, am primarily self taught, and it's just great to get some feedback from others who paint too. Thanks, and keep painting!!

Post more! Old work and new - I put off painting "seriously", ie consistently, for years; even now I find my time taken up with so many other things, and it drives me mad! We don't live long enough, that's the trouble - need several lifetimes to do all that we want to do.....
