This is lovely, Kate. You have a very delicate touch with watercolour and the colours are really good. Maybe the "centre" flower is a bit too much in the middle, might have been a bit better slightly off centre to be the focus. However, I shouldn't try to change it because it's a great watercolour as it is and your eyes move around the painting to look at all the flowers. I should get it framed quick!

Thank-you Pat for your comments, I hadn't noticed the position of the middle flower..you are right - it does look too central, that's something I will watch out for in future..your helpful response is much appreciated..

Beautiful colours and really well painted. I love clematis and my garden is stuffed with them so I really appreciate how lovely this painting is.

This is a painting done from a photo of my clematis plant, which has flowered for the first time this year. I have tried to think about the composition of this one, i read in an art magazine that positioning of objects and focal points can make or break a painting, still not quite sure i have got it right, there's a lot to think about, as well as the actual painting!
