Summer Richmond

Lovely lazy summer feeling to this one Karl .Nice composition and a lovely painting you do very well to hold a job down and be a family man and do all these paintings, one thing about having a job it means you can really enjoy your painting without finanancial pressure you are painting purely for l the joy it brings . I'm in a similar position I have a small driving school and I love it .

That&#39;s interesting to hear about you having a job too. <br />It&#39;s only just the last year or so I&#39;ve reAlised how lucky I am( we are)<br />I have several full time professional artist friends who spend so much time marketing,framing,doing consignment notes, chasing money, networking and worrying about when the next sales going to come that they probably don&#39;t get much more quality painting time than me. I&#39;m now convinced that the doing it is the only real reward.<br />Off to work now:-)

Could not agree more Karl its the anticipation and joy of doing the painting that is the real reward . I did try it the other way for a while but felt a lot of pleasure its not the same when you&#39;ve got to do it .

Another cracker Karl. It just shows that whatever level we reach, we have to enjoy it! Perhaps the amateur / leisure painter has the best of both worlds?
