Excellent for a first pencil drawing. Love the expression on his / her face.

I love it. Great eyes and expression. The left side of his muzzle (looking at it) looks a little angular but it really is nice. you've even managed to show the thickness of his ear leathers.

He's really lovely, your detail is amazing

Great drawing and your first. love the expression of the face.

Hi Karen, I had a 'cuteness warning' come up on my computer when I opened this! Fine pencil work mate.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I think you are right Diana about the left side of his muzzle its not quite right. Love your 'cuteness' comment Chris

he/she certainly is a cute little thing,i love it well done

Love the picture, would you mind if I used it for a business card? Starting a company called Talking Dogs and Blue is most definately listening !

Happy for you to use my picture for your business card Natasha, if you could acknowledgement that it is my picture in some way that would be good. Good luck with the business and I would love to see a copy of your business card when it’s finished.

the detail is amazing this is very good, you have captured the dogs expression perfect, well done ...chris

pencil is great... you should continue

Many years ago, we had a Weimaraner called Max, after the film 'The Blue Max'. He had the most wonderful blue eyes as a puppy. Your lovely portrait looks so like him. Great sensitive work!

If that's your first pencil drawing, then I'm giving up and taking up knitting!! It is absolutely lovely. I'm a dog person and the expression in that dog's eyes makes you melt. Can I take him home?? I've tried drawing my dogs and I know how difficult it is to do the coat, let alone the expression on the face and in the eyes. So a pat on the back for you.

so realistic every stroke what a great piece

Wow you mastered your values perfectly and it is even more amazing because this is your first graphite piece. My first would be so bad because I would either not get the darks in or I would have too much darks.
