When I saw this, I remembered that John Yardley painting. Actually Ai thought the centre off the window was a tree trunk but no matter the painting works very well to me.

Thank you for the comments everyone! Stephen, the is from my own photograph - different room, person and window so no tree I'm afraid. I wanted to try the atmosphere Yardley got on my own painting. Not even close as I well know.

I can see someone's influence in this. Really well painted, I like the idea of the mirror. It's nice that you left out bits of white.

Giving myself a day to paint exactly what I feel like painting, before I knuckle down to commissions. Here, I had John Yardley's beautiful Watercolour of his wife in a hat jangling in the back of my mind, and I remembered this photograph. Enjoyed every moment but wish I'd thought out the window frames better!
