Windflower by Kathy Gales
Windflower is the alternative name of the anemone and in Victorian folklore symbolized forsaken love. As I was developing the image the painting began to remind me of Pre Raphaelite art so I decided to look at their paintings and borrow from the gorgeous colours and motifs. It seemed fitting to paint in a flower and add a narative to the piece.
