Hi Julie, I love doing skies and I found the best way to learn is from the old Dutch Masters such as my favourite....Jacob (pronounced yakob) Van Ruisdael, or a chap called Cryp. Practice some of their skies and you will learn a lot about how the masters did them. Good luck.

Hi again Julie, I have painted a couple of Ruisdael's "winter scenes" to learn from the old masters, may I suggest you have a look at the landscapes / seascapes in my gallery which will show you that you can do it with practice.
