Beautiful reflections and a sense of the peaceful evening.

Such a familiar landmark from times past....used to live near here. Thank you so much, Julie!

Lovely piece, especially for 90 mins.

An excellent outcome for 1.5 hours!

Great detail and lovely subject Julie

Great sketch Julie lovely subject.

Very well done Julie.

Thanks Marjorie. It was peaceful- just the sounds of the water birds settling down for the evening and the voices of people carrying over the lake.

Thanks Jo- what a lovely area you lived in! We are 35 mins from there but we visit often. Love Hambleton Bakery and it’s new cafe!

Many thanks Andrew. I was surprised i’d been there that long- it passed quickly.

Many thanks Heather- I’m glad you like it.

Thank you Shaun, Willie and Stephen. It is a really nice subject and has been photographed, drawn and painted countless times.

You’ve created a calm and peaceful scene Julie, the kind of painting to make you sigh with contentment. I also lived nearby, Cottesmore, I would cycle to Rutland water.

Thank you very much Fiona. I know Cottesmore pretty well. Glad you find the church and water as peaceful as I did.

Thank you very much Spencer. I enjoyed creating the reflections.

Really well painted.

Thank you very much for your comments David and Christine. Glad you like it.

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far here, so in the evening we headed to Rutland Water to see the sunset and I took my sketch pad. This is a plein air sketch completed in 1.5 hours.
